Privacy Policy

Prepd is operated by Philip Seifert, Miami, Florida, United States. Philip Seifert is the data controller for personal information collected through Prepd, which means we decide how and why it is used. We never sell your data or use it for targeted ads.

What we collect and why

• Account details (email, password managed by our sign-in provider, or Google sign-in profile) — to create your account and keep it secure. Basis: providing the service.
• Study information (subjects, exam dates, topics, availability, progress, results) — to build your plan, stored in your account and cached on your device. Basis: providing the service.
• Notes and files you upload to AI features — processed only to create your flashcards, quizzes or topic lists, and not used to train AI models by us. Basis: providing the service.
• Subscription status (plan and renewal state) — to unlock paid features. Basis: providing the service.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser type, error logs) — for security, fraud prevention and fixing bugs. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Messages you send us — to answer support and feedback. Basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that host our app, database, sign-in and AI processing, only as needed to run Prepd.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling subscriptions, payments, tax and invoicing. We never see or store your card number.
• Professional advisers (such as legal or accounting) when needed.
• Authorities when required by law.

Children

Prepd is built for students. Users under 13 should only use Prepd with a parent or guardian's involvement. If you are a parent and believe your child gave us information without permission, email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is active. Requesting account deletion stops future subscription renewals. Paid accounts keep access until their paid period ends, then the account and study data are deleted. Free accounts can be deleted immediately. Billing records required for legal, tax or payment obligations may be retained by us or Paddle. You can cancel a pending deletion request before it is processed; doing so does not automatically restart subscription renewals.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, or object to how we use it. "Reset all data" in Settings clears your saved study data, but keeps your account, billing and monthly usage allowances. Settings also lets you request account deletion. For anything else, email prepd.feedback@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe.

Cookies and local storage

Prepd uses only essential storage: keeping you signed in and saving your study plan and preferences on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage removes this data.
